SALT LAKE CITY-Per Tuesday news, the University of Utah football program confirmed the iconic No. 22 jersey will be retired during Saturday evening’s home game against UCLA.
This jersey was worn by deceased tailback Ty Jordan and cornerback Aaron Lowe who were teammates dating back to their high school days in Mesquite, Texas.
Since the passing of Lowe earlier this season, the athletic department has since created the Ty Jordan and Aaron Lowe Memorial Scholarships.
These scholarships will be annually granted to Utah student-athletes who exemplify the qualities of Jordan and Lowe.
The Utes are 4-3 on the season and 3-1 in Pac-12 play.
