FARMINGTON, Utah-Monday, Weber State sophomore cornerback Eddie Heckard was named as the Big Sky Conference defensive player of the week.

In the Wildcats’ 35-34 upset of No. 2 Eastern Washington, Heckard posted an interception, forced fumble, seven tackles and a pass breakup.

The native of Las Vegas has three pass breakups and 33 tackles on the season for Weber State.

Heckard and his Wildcats teammates are now 3-4 on the season and 2-2 in Big Sky Conference play as they visit Holt Arena of Pocatello, Idaho to face Idaho State Saturday at 1:00 pm.
