ST. GEORGE, Utah-Thursday, Dixie State football awarded the distinction of wearing No. 3 to junior linebacker Malaki Malaki.

The honor bestowed upon the 6-2 225-pound native of Leone, American Samoa, bolsters the Trailblazers’ tradition of Dixie State football player Abraham Reinhardt, who passed away in March 2019 and wore this now iconic number in program history.

Dixie State head coach Paul Peterson reported Malaki received this honor as “he exemplifies everything that we are trying to build here at Dixie State.”

The Trailblazers commence their first Division I fall season September 4 by hosting the Sacramento State Hornets of the Big Sky Conference.
