Officials at Yuba State Park are warning visitors that they need to be careful where they park, as water has receded. Specifically, officials are worried about visitors driving large recreational vehicles too close to the water’s edge.
In a post to their Facebook page, officials stated that “just because it looks safe, doesn’t mean it is for your enormous trailer and truck to park right along the water’s edge.”
In the post it is pointed out that a good way to know what sand to avoid at Yuba is the color, and that visitors should avoid the “dark sand.”
It was also shared that the fee for getting a large vehicle out of the dark sand can be thousands of dollars and those in recreational vehicles who wish to be close to the water’s edge should stay “a couple hundred yards back or more, depending on the size and weight of their rig.”
