BYU Men’s Basketball Receives Committment From Seneca Knight

PROVO, Utah-Monday, BYU men’s basketball received a committment from former San Jose State and LSU guard Seneca Knight.

Knight, a native of Lafayette, La., had been at LSU since January after transferring from San Jose State.

Knight did not play for the Tigers.

Knight, a junior, averages 9.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game during his collegiate career with the Spartans.

In the 2019-20 season, Knight averaged 17.1 points and 5.7 rebounds per game.

The 6-6 190-pound Knight selected the Cougars over offers from Idaho and Georgia Southern.

Knight is also capable of playing forward if called upon, having done so previously at San Jose State.

If Knight is to play immediately, he requires a waiver as he transferred to LSU.

Division I student-athletes are permitted, per the covid regulations of the 2020-21 season to have one undergrad transfer during that season.

Because he has used it up, the waiver is necessary. Knight confirmed he plans to pursue the waiver.
