Snow College Honored at Best of State Awards Gala

Three individuals from Snow College and the school itself were honored at the Best of State awards over the weekend. Only one BOSS trophy is awarded per category and is given as a special distinction to “The Best of the Best” in their field.

Snow College was honored for its Curriculum Development as faculty members created 10 new community courses during their summer breaks in order to join the state’s “Learn and Work in Utah” efforts.

Barbara S. Dalene was honored as an education advisor. Snow shared that “she goes above and beyond to help students, including enrolling herself in their difficult classes to better be able to help them.”

Jay D. Olson was honored as best college/university teacher. Since 2011 Olson has grown the Agriculture and Farm Business Management program from 38 students to 134, has implemented an “Ag Ambassador” program, brought in nearly two million dollars in grant money and organizes/hosts a Future Farmers of America Field Day.

Stacee Yardley McIff was honored as a college/university administrator. As Interim Vice President for Snow’s Technical Education and Workforce Development, she has increased enrollment, established assessment standards and improved relationships with transfer schools.
