Pride week ends in Utah with rally, march in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — More than 20,000 people marched through downtown Salt Lake City over the weekend to close out Pride week in Utah. KSTU-TV reports that organizers were thrilled to see everyone gathered at the “Rainbow March & Rally” again after last year’s events were canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic. Utah Pride Center Chief Operating Officer Jonathan Foulk says Pride started as a rally and a march, and that’s what organizers brought back this year because they couldn’t have food vendors and floats. He says planning has already started for next year.
