Several Utah Football Standouts Named To Athlon Pac-12 Preseason Team

SALT LAKE CITY-Wednesday, various University of Utah football standouts were named to the Athlon Sports Pac-12 preseason team. They appeared on Athlon’s second, third and fourth teams. i

Covey is a senior receiver/all-purpose player who has amassed 1,698 yards and eight total scores during his career with the Utes.

Kuithe, a junior tight end, has amassed 71 receptions for 989 yards and 7 scores during his time at Utah. Overall, he has 1,139 scrimmage yards for 10 total scores for the Utes.

Freshman cornerback Clark Phillips III posted a pick six and 22 total tackles for the Utes last season.

Laumea is a redshirt freshman offensive lineman who made the All-Pac 12 second team in 2020.

Brewer is a transfer from Baylor to the Utes’ program who has completed 63.5 percent of his passes for 9,700 yards, 65 touchdowns and 28 interceptions.

He will have one season of eligibility with the Utes.

In his sophomore season, cornerback Jatravis Broughton has posted an interception and 1.5 tackles for a loss for the Utes in his career.
