Dixie State Men Basketball’s Hunter Schofield Named To Academic All-District Team

ST. GEORGE, Utah-In news released Thursday, Dixie State senior forward Hunter Schofield was named to the NCAA Division I men’s basketball CoSIDA Academic all- District 8 squad.

This consists of NCAA and NAIA Division I schools in Arizona, California, Hawaii, Oregon, Utah and Washington.

Through all NCAA and NAIA divisions, it also consists of  NCAA Division II schools in Alaska (Alaska-Anchorage; Alaska-Fairbanks) and British Columbia (Simon Fraser, the only Canadian school affiliated with the NCAA).

Schofield, who previously played at Spanish Fork High School and Salt Lake Community College, has a 3.94 GPA in exercise science, led the Trail Blazers on the glass in 2020-21 with 5.9 rebounds per contest and was second in scoring as he averaged 12.7 points per game.

Schofield was the only Utah college basketball student-athlete to achieve this honor.

He was joined on this squad by California sophomore point guard Joel Brown, Stanford senior small forward Oscar da Silva, Gonzaga senior small forward Corey Kispert, Fresno State sophomore power forward Orlando Robinson and Stanford junior guard Bryce Wills.
