Published on December 22, 2007 at 11:48PM
CHARLOTTE, N.C.-Tony Romo completed 28 of 42 passes for 257 yards, a touchdown and an interception as the Dallas Cowboys inched all the closer to clinching home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs with a 20-13 victory over the Carolina Panthers Saturday at Bank of America Stadium. Despite Dallas’ big win, they lost Terrell Owens to injury in the second quarter after he made a reception against Carolina’s Richard Marshall. Despite this setback, the Cowboys’ defense rose to the occasion against a sputtering Panthers offense as they surrendered only 216 net yards on the night. The Panthers pulled to within 20-13 on a 25-yard John Kasay field goal but Dallas was able to seal the deal with strong running from Marion Barber (110 rushing yards, TD) to put the Panthers away. The Cowboys can officially clinch home-field advantage if the Packers lose to Chicago Sunday.
