Templars End Season on High Note By Gashing ALA
Published on October 11, 2007 at 09:40PM
MANTI, UTAH-Griffin Aste completed seven of eight passes for 112 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 66 more yards and another score as the Manti Templars decimated the American Leadership Academy Eagles, 53-13 Thursday evening. The Templars’ offense was unstoppable on the evening as they amassed 488 offensive yards and were forced to punt only once. Additionally, the Manti defense also rose to the occasion as they surrendered only 175 offensive yards and held the Eagles scoreless until quarterback Seth Weber scored on a naked bootleg from 16 yards out midway through the 4th Quarter. David Hugentobler once again had a stellar game for the Templars as he ran for two touchdowns and caught a 38-yard strike from Aste, while Colter Lund, Nick Brown, Chase Stevens, and Russell Hugentobler (Dave’s younger brother) all scored touchdowns as well for Manti. As the #3 seed in the 2A North region, Manti is slated to host Beaver next week with a date yet to be set, although Manti officials believe the kickoff will take place around 5:00 p.m. on either Friday Oct.19 or Saturday Oct.20. Whenever the game occurs, it can be heard on KMTI-AM 650 or online at www.kmtiradio.com, while Beaver fans can tune in on KCYQ 97.7 FM or online at www.midutahradio.com/kcyq.

At about 10am, an employee smelled gas in the back of the restaurant and management evacuated the building. Only one customer was in the building at the time and six employees. The Richfield Fire Department was called and determined no gas line was connected to the restaurant and could not determine where the smell was coming from.
