(RICHFIELD) – The Sevier County Planning Commission set a self-imposed deadline to wrap up the details of a development agreement with Sevier Power Company.

The commission released copies of the draft agreement last night at their regular monthly meeting.

The document states the commission has concerns about the plant’s potential impacts to the county, but also says the planning commission has elected to recommend the agreement to Sevier County commissioners.

The board responded to citizen concerns about that recommendation by saying the document is not final yet.

Planning Commission member John Worley motioned to hold four work sessions over the next four months in addition to the planning board’s regular meetings to wrap up remaining questions and details.

The head of a newly organized local chapter of Utah Moms for Clean Air presented the planning commission with letters from the group.

Sevier Power Company representative Bruce Taylor says the meeting shows the county is attempting to leave no stone unturned and says the work sessions show the sincerity of commission members.
