Badgers Dominate Pima in Second Consecutive Shutout

Published on September 08, 2007 at 05:07PM

(Ephraim, Utah) Soni Sotele ran for 115 yards on 13 carries and two touchdown runs as the Snow Badgers dominated the Pima Aztecs, 52-0 Saturday afternoon at Stoddard Field at Badger Stadium. The Badgers, as usual, got off to a swift start as Sotele had a one-yard touchdown run, Kimball Burton recovered a blocked Aztecs punt in the end zone and Ryan McNamarra kicked a field goal from 37 yards all in the first quarter as the Badgers built a 17-0 lead. As the game progressed, Regan Buck snared two touchdown passes from QB Jon Eastman in amassing 101 yards on three receptions while Niu Takai closed out the scoring with a 15-yard touchdown run to punctuate the Badgers’ performance of dominance. As for Snow defensive coordinator Justin DeCol’s defense, this unit allowed only 26 yards on 55 plays which means Pima averaged less than a yard per play. Additionally, in three games, the Badgers have surrendered just 14 points and all of those came in one quarter at Colorado Springs, Colo. against the Air Force Prep Huskies. Next Saturday, the Badgers will travel to Yuma, Ariz. to battle the Arizona Western Matadors at 8:00 p.m. MDT. This game can be heard on KMTI-AM 650 or online at www.kmtiradio.com Box Score (Final)
