(El Paso, Texas) Terrell Jackson had 13 carries for 69 yards and the game-winning 36-yard touchdown in the 4th Quarter as the Texas-El Paso Miners got past the New Mexico Lobos, 10-6 Saturday night at the Sun Bowl in the 75th installment of this rivalry. Traditionally, these schools have been known for their offensive power but this evening the defenses took center stage. Despite the fact that the Lobos outgained the Miners, 370-209, two missed field goals by John Sullivan proved costly, particularly as after Sullivan’s second miss, Jackson scored just moments later. Rodney Ferguson amassed 33 rushes for 132 yards while former Snow linebacker Brett Madsen led New Mexico with five tackles.
