(Manti, Utah) David Hugentobler ran for 102 yards on 20 carries and three scores while the Manti defense surrendered just 130 yards of offense as the Templars defeated the Kanab Cowboys, 28-6 Friday evening. The Cowboys got off to a quick start, however, as they swiftly capitalized on a Griffin Aste fumble as QB T.J. Reidhead hit tight end Ty Bunting on a 25-yard scoring strike for a 6-0 Kanab lead. However, the Templars soon seized momentum from that point on as Hugentobler had two short scoring runs in the second quarter to give Manti a 14-6 halftime advantage. Jordan Lammert got into the scoring column as he scored from 12 yards out while Hugentobler closed out the scoring for Manti in the 4th. Bunting led the way for the Cowboys as he had three receptions for 51 yards and a score but it wasn’t enough and now Manti will attempt to remain unbeaten as they travel to Fillmore, Utah next week to battle the solid Millard Eagles.

(BICKNELL) – Two people died of gunshot wounds in a Bicknell motel Tuesday night. The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the motel and discovered 41-year old, Kimberly Burnette from South Carolina and 42-year old, Matthew Keller from Twin Falls, Idaho. The sheriff’s report said that alcohol was involved in the incident. Both victims were transported to the Utah State Medical Examiner’s Office in Salt Lake City for further investigation. The Sheriff’s Office is treating the case as a homicide and are interviewing potential witnesses, collecting evidence and other information. Officials have not ruled the deaths as a double suicide or a homicide-suicide.
