Kansas City, Mo.-John Beck completed five of six passes for 53 yards and orchestrated a 7-play, 73 yard drive which led to an 11-10 victory for the Miami Dolphins over the Kansas City Chiefs Thursday evening in NFL preseason action at Arrowhead Stadium. After Kansas City rookie Justin Medlock drilled a 34-yard field goal to give the Chiefs a 10-3 lead midway through the 4th Quarter, Beck led the Dolphins on a game-winning drive for the second time in as many weeks. Beck gave the Dolphins the lead with a controversial two-point conversion as replays showed that his knee was down before the ball broke the plane shortly after an 8-yard TD run by tailback Patrick Cobbs. Last Saturday, Beck led Miami to an 18-17 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars with a 4th Quarter drive. Ronnie Brown also contributed to the Miami victory as he ran for 56 yards on 14 carries. Kansas City received strong performances from third-string quarterback Casey Printers (7-9, 113 yards) and Gilbert Harris (two receptions, 63 yards), although they couldn’t overcome Beck’s heroics. Additionally, the peculiar score was noteworthy as in the NFL’s 87-year existence, a postseason or regular season game has never ended with an 11-10 score.
