Boys Basketball

NEPHI, Utah-Derek Smith posted 21 points on 8-12 shooting and Brett Roundy posted 11 points and 15 rebounds as the Delta Rabbits pounded Juab 57-42 Friday in Region 14 boys basketball action. The Rabbits broke open a close game with a 34-23 run in the second half and limited Juab to 32.6 percent shooting on the evening. Jackson Rowley netted 12 points and 7 rebounds in the loss for the Wasps. Delta ends the regular season with a record of 16-5, including a 10-2 mark in Region 14 play while Juab finishes it with a record of 8-12 and 5-7 in Region 14 games. With the win, Delta clinched the Region 14 title.

PAROWAN, Utah-Davis Heslington netted 23 points and the Beaver Beavers downed Parowan 48-36 in Region 18 boys basketball action Friday. Porter Wood had 17 points for the Rams in the loss.

MANTI, Utah-Matt Nelson posted 23 points, including six 3-pointers as the Manti Templars downed North Sanpete 75-57 in Region 15 boys basketball action Friday. Spencer Steadman’s 19 points led the Hawks in defeat.

MONROE, Utah-Payton Thompson led Richfield with 14 points, but it wasn’t enough as South Sevier gashed the Wildcats 53-40 Friday in Region 15 boys basketball action.

KANAB, Utah-Chasen Truman stepped up with 23 points as the Enterprise Wolves smacked Kanab 69-45 in Region 18 boys basketball action Friday. Jake Shakespear and Tyler Clark had 11 points apiece in the loss for the Cowboys.

BICKNELL, Utah-Jake Freestone amassed 23 points while the Monticello Buckaroos gashed Wayne 67-55 Friday in Region 20 boys basketball action. Garrett Chappell’s 17 points and 7 rebounds led the Badgers in defeat.

Girls Basketball

TROPIC, Utah-Mickell Morgan led the way with 25 points as the Piute Thunderbirds stymied Bryce Valley 54-41 in Region 20 girls basketball action Friday. Breanna Nelson had 15 points in the loss for the Mustangs.

PANGUITCH, Utah-Brittney Henrie posted 22 points and the Panguitch Bobcats decimated Water Canyon 84-17 Friday in Region 20 girls basketball action. Carlie Holm had 5 opints for the Wildcats in defeat.
