Boys Basketball

RICHFIELD, Utah-The Richfield Wildcats used a 20-6 run in the 4th Quarter to come away with a narrow 43-40 win over the North Sanpete Hawks Wednesday in Region 15 boys basketball action. Keldon Anderson had 15 points for the Wildcats in the win, going both 5 of 6 from the field and the foul line. Spencer Steadman had 17 points on 8-13 from the field in defeat for the Hawks, who fell to 3-8 in Region 15 play with Richfield improving to 4-7. These two teams were tied in the region standings so this was a huge win for the Wildcats in terms of playoff positioning. Up next for both of these teams are rivalry games on Friday as the Wildcats travel to Monroe to face South Sevier while North Sanpete travels to Manti on Friday.

LINDON, Utah-Max Gurney posted 21 points and the Juab Wasps waxed Maeser Prep 79-57 in Region 14 boys basketball action Wednesday. Tade Davis had 13 points in defeat for the Lions.

DELTA, Utah-Brett Roundy netted 13 points and 10 rebounds as the Delta Rabbits humbled Providence Hall 57-51 Wednesday in Region 14 boys basketball action. Boston Douglas’ game-high 19 points led the Patriots in the loss.

MANTI, Utah-Caleb Barton amassed 23 points and 7 boards, helping the South Sevier Rams past the Manti Templars 71-64 in Region 15 boys basketball action Wednesday. Adam Huff stepped up in defeat with 23 points for the Templars.

GUNNISON, Utah-Davis Heslington led the way with 21 points and the Beaver Beavers got past Gunnison 66-60 in overtime Wednesday in Region 18 boys basketball action. Parx Bartholomew had a game-high 23 points in the loss for the Bullodgs.

SALINA, Utah-Anders Rosquist netted 19 points and 6 rebounds while the North Sevier Wolves gashed Millard 62-55 in Region 18 boys basketball action Wednesday. Jaxon Wardle posted 16 points for the Eagles in defeat.

BICKNELL, Utah-Wyatt VanOrden amassed 27 points as the Wayne Badgers routed Green River 96-64 Wednesday in Region 19 boys basketball action. Trey Vetere had 14 points in defeat to pace the Pirates.

Girls Basketball

ORDERVILLE, Utah-Kapri Orton led the way with 28 points and the Panguitch Bobcats smacked Valley 58-32 in Region 20 girls basketball action Wednesday. Whitnee Spencer had 8 points in the loss for the Buffaloes.

JUNCTION, Utah-Vanessa Delgado netted 17 points while the Piute Thunderbirds decimated Escalante 81-28 Wednesday in region 20 girls basketball action. Alissa Catmull, Bobbie Griffin and Lilly Steed posted 7 points apiece for the Moquis in the loss.
