Utah Men's Basketball Signs Four Players to NLI

SALT LAKE CITY – Utah head men’s basketball coach Larry Krystkowiak announced Wednesday that four players, Timmy Allen, Riley Battin, Naseem Gaskin and Charles Jones, have all signed national letters of intent to attend the U and play basketball for the Runnin’ Utes beginning in the fall of 2018.

“All four of these players are individually talented and along with their maturity level, they each bring in a ‘team first mentality’,” said Krystkowiak. “I am really fired up about this group of young men. This is a special and balanced recruiting class that possesses high character both on and off the court. It truly is a great day to be a Ute.”

CHARLES JONES, JR. 6-2 | 200 | Guard Portland, Ore. | David Douglas High School | College of Southern Idaho Will transfer to the U following two seasons at College of Southern Idaho … Freshman season at CSI he averaged 15.4 points and 4.4 rebounds per game … Tallied 57 assists and 24 steals on the year … Shot 47 percent from the field and 42 percent from beyond the arc … Scored season-high 26 points back on Feb. 2, shooting 9-of-18 from the field and a 5-of-9 effort from three-point range … Named third team all-American selection … In two games with CSI this season, has averaged a team-best 20.0 points per game, while shooting 75 percent from three-point arc … Committed to the U after also receiving offers from Oregon State, Utah State and Pittsburg.
