The Green River Fire Department responded to a home fire Monday evening, October 2nd.

The firefighters entered the home to find that they couldn’t get to the back bedroom where the homeowner slept.

Firefighters decided to break the bedroom window from the outside. As they entered, they found that homeowner, 96-year old Allene Spadafora, had died.

Fire officials still don’t know the sure cause of the fire. However, findings point toward rodents gnawing on the insulation and electrical wiring.
