SPRINGVILLE — Springville police arrested two men Monday afternoon after searching for three individuals allegedly involved in armed robberies in Springville and Mt. Pleasant.

The men stole a car from Springville late Sunday night, according to Springville police spokesman Lt. Warren Foster. They then drove the car to Mt. Pleasant Monday where the car was burned. They then stole a second car in Mt. Pleasant and were involved in a second armed robbery at a Maverik gas station.

Derek Wright, who owns the second car that was stolen, says he’s glad to have his car coming back. He also says he’s learned a valuable lesson.

“Don’t leave your keys in your car. Lesson learned,” Wright says.

The men drove the second vehicle back up to Utah County, where it was spotted in the Orem area.

Police received a tip from a citizen in the Springville area where the car had been abandoned in a church parking lot during the chase. Police caught up to two of the men and arrested them after a non-confrontational interrogation.
