A 3-year-old boy from Fillmore died Saturday after being left in a vehicle for about an hour at a Las Vegas vacation village resort.

Chase Lee was taken to St. Rose Siena Hospital after the incident was reported at 4:50 pm, but he was pronounced dead.

According to KUTV, investigators said the outside temperature that hour was 114 degrees and that the likely temperature inside the car was near 170 degrees.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department lieutenant Roger Price said there was a large family gathering at the resort and it appears they lost track of the child.

Detectives said the adults responsible for the child were not drinking or otherwise impaired.

Detectives with the LVMPD Abuse and Neglect Detectives continue their investigation. The Clark County Coroner is also continuing to investigate the official cause and manner of death.
