Fires To Be Banned In Zion National Park

(Zion National Park, UT) —  Campfires in most of Zion National Park will be prohibited starting this Tuesday.  The park says it is issuing the ban because invasive vegetation in the park grew larger because of the late spring rains but it is now beginning to dry out.  Starting Tuesday, all campfires in campgrounds except Lava Point are banned along with smoking or use of any fireworks.  You face up to a year in jail and a five-thousand-dollar fine for violating the ban.
