(Salt Lake City, UT) —  Teachers in Salt Lake City are about to get a raise.  The city school district announced yesterday that it will raise salaries nine-percent under a proposed agreement with the Salt Lake Education Association.  Starting salaries for teachers would increase to nearly 44-thousand-dollars a year under the agreement.  The head of the teacher’s union tells the “Salt Lake Tribune” that the proposal is the best salary package the city has offered in years and that votes to ratify the agreement are due Tuesday.
