The chairman of the Sutherland Institute Board of Directors, Stan Swim, has announced that Sutherland and C.E.O. Paul Mero are parting ways.

Swim says the board has expressed to Paul that they are “grateful for the 14 years of dedicated service Paul has given to Sutherland. Under his leadership, the Institute has become the most influential conservative voice in Utah.”

Mero in a statement said : “Disagreements often arise between a CEO and board, and this is what happened here. “While disappointing, it became necessary. I have enjoyed every success and learned from every failure. Utah is a better place to live, work and raise a family because of Sutherland Institute.”

Additionally Swim issued a statement saying: “We will continue to stand with you in our commitment to the conservative principles that have made Utah the great state that it is. Only faith, family and freedom can truly help a community thrive and bring lasting happiness and prosperity to the men, women and children living in Utah and our nation.”

A new C.E.O. has not been named.
