(Denver, CO) — There’s good news for same-sex couples in Utah as a federal appeals court has ruled that states which outlaw gay marriage are in violation of the U.S. Constitution. In upholding a Utah judge’s decision, the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals set an historic precedent saying today that voter-approved bans on same-sex marriage violate the Fourteenth Amendment rights of gay couples. The “Salt Lake Tribune” notes the ruling affects all states in the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals: Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Utah and Wyoming.
