Mark McIff named as new Sevier County Judge

The Sevier County Commission has announced the appointment of attorney Mark Kay McIff to fill the Sevier County Justice Court vacancy. The position will replace Judge Kent Nielsen who retires on June 1. Mark McIff practices law in south central Utah and maintains a private law practice in Richfield. He is a former chief criminal prosecutor for the Wasatch County Attorney, Deputy Sevier County Attorney, Deputy Garfield County Attorney, and city prosecutor for several cities in the district. McIff holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Southern Utah University and a Juris Doctorate from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington.

McIff’s appointment to the bench is subject to completion of the court’s new judge orientation and certification by the Utah Judicial Council.
