Health and environment officials say there’s no risk to Salt Lake City-area drinking water from a crude oil spill on Interstate 80. The Salt Lake County Health Department and Salt Lake City Public Utilities said Wednesday afternoon that the spill in Parley’s Creek can be cleaned up before it hits the reservoirs that provide drinking water. The crash Wednesday morning snarled westbound traffic on the highway and sent two drivers to the hospital with minor injuries. The Utah Highway Patrol says about 100 barrels of oil spilled on to the road.
