Weed Problems Plague Wood Hollow Fire Area

(Sanpete) Nearly two years after the Wood Hollow fire burned a massive swath of land in Sanpete and Utah counties, land managers are still contending with lingering problems linked to the damage. Bryce Jackson, a member of the Sanpete County Weed Board says that a lot of time and money has been spent on controlling invasive weeds that have flourished since the other vegetation was destroyed. State Legislators appropriate money each year for control of invasive species and Sanpete County has received several grants from that money over the last two years. County officials have applied for additional funding but are unsure how much will be awarded.
