Track Stars Shine at Mt. Sac Relays

WALUNT, Calif. (AP)-Friday, as Day 2 of the Mount Sac Relays commenced, numerous athletes representing schools from all across North America excelled at the 56th commemoration of this event.

Winning the women’s 1500-meter run was Washington State’s Abby Regan in a time of 4:19.49, while other wins came from the Central Florida Lady Knights in the women’s 4×100 meter relay in a time of 44.94 seconds and North Dakota State’s Ashley Tingelstad in the women’s 400-meter dash.

Also winning in women’s events were Central Florida’s Briana Vaughn in the 100-meter dash, Raquel Lambdin of UC Davis in the 800-meter run, and USC’s CoCo Ndipagbor of USC in the 200-meter dash.

As for the men, Texas-Pan American’s Martin Case won the 1500-meter run with a time of 3:44.92, the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers won the men’s 4×100 relay in a time of 40.22 seconds and Tyler Brown prevailed in the men’s 400-meter dash, running it in 46.02 seconds.

Additionally, John Teeters of Oklahoma State took the 100-meter dash crown in a time of 10.14 seconds, Akron’s Jake Hiltner won the 800-meter run, Trevor Brown of Colorado State won the men’s 400-meter hurdles and Merritt’s Kemarley Brown won the 200-meter run in a time of 20.38 seconds. The meet will resume Saturday.
