A southern Utah cat that survived being shot through the face and body with an arrow now has a new family. A St. George couple who asked to be identified only as Tom and Valerie took the cat named Quiver home with them on Monday. They said they first heard of Quiver’s plight through the media, and then inquired about adopting her after the death of their 17-year-old cat, Powder.

Rescuers found the injured cat Feb. 5 with an arrow through its head, esophagus and shoulder blades. A veterinarian removed the arrow, and Quiver spent time recuperating at the home of an animal rescue organization director. Washington County prosecutors say formal charges have been filed against the 16-year-old boy suspected of the act.
