Swallow Investigative Committee OK's Final Report

A House committee that investigated former Utah Attorney General John Swallow has formally approved a final report of their findings. The nine-member House Special Investigative Committee unanimously adopted the report Tuesday afternoon. Rep. Jim Dunnigan, a Taylorsville Republican who chairs the House committee, says the 200-plus page report with thousands of attached exhibits will be released publicly Wednesday morning. Investigators working for lawmakers say Swallow’s campaign obscured donations in 2012 and later deleted and fabricated records to throw off investigators.

Swallow stepped down late last year after months of accusations of misconduct, including allegations he offered to protect several businessmen in return for favors. He has repeatedly denied wrongdoing and pledges to clear his name as a private citizen.
