(Washington, DC) — A gay rights bill is headed to the House after bipartisan approval in the Senate. The vote was 64-32. The Employment Non-Discrimination Act, or ENDA, aims to prohibit workplace discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. Utah Senators split their vote. Senator Orrin Hatch voted for the bill, while Mike Lee voted against it. Both are members of the LDS Church, which has been in support of the bill. The bill heads to the House, where it faces a steeper climb as Speaker John Boehner [[ BAY-nur ]] is opposed to it.
