Cedar City voters have elected the city’s first-ever female mayor. Maile Wilson, an attorney, received 56% of the vote Tuesday night. Wilson’s opponent, city councilman John Black, earned 43% of the votes. Wilson says she’s honored by the opportunity and excited by the possobilites that come with being the city’s first female mayor. The Spectrum of St. George reports Black will remain on the city council for the next two years. He says he’s ready to support and work with Wilson.
