Mistrial Denied In MacNeill Murder Case

(Provo, UT) — The judge in the Dr. Martin MacNeill denied a motion for a mistrial and the trial continues in Provo. As attorneys were questioning a former cellmate of MacNeill’s, a news report about the trial began playing from a paralegal’s laptop. The judge told the person to turn the report off. After the witness was finished, he dismissed the jury. Defense attorney Randy Spencer immediately made a motion for a mistrial, which was denied. MacNeill is on trial for the alleged murder of his wife, Michele in April of 2007.
