Utah quarterback Travis Wilson may not have been himself in last week’s loss to UCLA. The sophomore, who threw six interceptions in the setback, was under the weather with an undisclosed illness. Head Coach Kyle Whittingham said Wilson has been sick for several days.
Whittingham declined to say if the illness was a factor in Wilson’s performance against UCLA, saying there are “No excuses. He was there, he was playing, and so if you’re playing you’ve got to produce.”
Whittingham also announced that tight end Jake Murphy had surgery Tuesday to repair a broken bone in his wrist he sustained in the UCLA game. It is not known how long or if Murhpy will miss any games.
