(Salt Lake City, UT) — Low-income mothers are feeling the effects of the government shutdown, as they learn WIC offices are closed or are unable to provide the assistance they need. The Women, Infants and Children program is federally funded, but is administered by county officials in Utah. Some women are having luck finding formula at local food pantries, but there are restrictions and supplies are low.
