A new effort is underway today in Utah to help the state’s older military veterans be able to see the memorials in Washington, D.C. It is their goal to help these veterans see these Memorials that have been dedicated to their service. The Community Foundation is helping to launch Honor Flights of Utah, as part of the national “Honor Flight Network.” The non-profit program has helped nearly 100-thousand veterans see the World War Two, Korean, Vietnam, and Iwo Jima Memorials, as well as the Arlington National Cemetery. Fraser Nelson, who is the head of the Community Foundation, says the donations help honor the vets for their years of service. Nelson also says that is costs about 700-dollars to send a veteran on an Honor Flight. Donations can be made through the Utah Community Foundation online at utahcf.org.
