A 38 year old man from Santa Clara was in critical condition after his vehicle collided with two overpass pillars on Saturday. His car caught on fire as a result. It happened around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon just south of Cedar City when the car smashed into the first pillar while traveling north on I-15. The vehicle then spun around and hit a second pillar. Both the first and second contact against the pillars happened on the drivers side. When the car came to a stop it caught on fire. The man went unconscious but fellow travelers freed the man from the car before the flames were able to get to him. The driver was then taken to the Valley View Medical Center in Cedar City. He was transported by ambulance.
