(Carbon County, UT) — Officials in Carbon County are looking into a multi-million-dollar plan to pave more than 30-miles of road that passes through Nine Mile Canyon. County officials will ask the state to help fund the five-million-dollar project. Officials from Carbon and Duchesne counties maintain that adding blacktop to the 34-mile stretch is needed to serve natural-gas operations on the West Tavaputs Plateau. The state’s Community Impact Fund Board OKd a funding request yesterday for the first eleven-mile section.
