Appearing before Judge Marvin Bagley, sitting in for Judge Wallace Lee on Wednesday, Troy Knapp, the alleged Mountain Man, said he has fired the new attorney hired by his family and requested a preliminary hearing. Judge Bagley was not able to set a date on Judge Lee’s calendar, but the preliminary hearing will probably be held in approximately four weeks.

Knapp faces 39 charges of breaking into mountain cabins looking for weapons, food, clothing and gear over a six-year period. Federal prosecutors are looking to add firearms violations, as well as more charges expected from a seventh county.
