A Utah mineral mining firm says it’ll downsize expansion plans. That’s the word from officials at Great Salt Lake Minerals Company after a recent summit with environmentalists. The firm originally wanted to use 142-square-miles of land in Ogden including parts of Bear River Bay to increase its production of potash. The company says its new scaled-down plans include using 40-percent less land.
