Utah Cancer Clinics Turning Away Medicare Patients

Cancer clinics around Utah are turning away patients due to cuts in Medicare. Facilities such as Utah Cancer say the sequestration cuts that began in April have lowered the payout from Medicare regarding expensive chemotherapy drugs, making it nearly impossible for the clinics to administer such medication and remain financially viable. Dozens of cancer patients are now being turned away at such clinics and being referred to hospitals for treatment.
