Orem Police have cited a woman for leaving her little girl inside a car that heated up to 110 degrees. The three-year-old wasn’t hurt and a woman who heard the child crying reached in through a partially opened window and got the toddler out before calling 9-1-1. The girl’s mother told police she went into a store to use the bathroom and didn’t want to wake her sleeping child. Police say the mother wasn’t acting maliciously and didn’t think she would be gone as long as she was. Firefighters measured the temperature of the child’s car seat at 110 degrees.
