(RICHFIELD) – Students attending Snow College-Richfield this fall may be able to move into the new student housing units by August 15. Willow Creek developer, Jedd Memmott, petitioned the city council for approval of allowing students to move in prior to complete construction of the project. Memmott said 50-70 students have already contracted for fall semester and could move in before school starts. City councilmembers discussed safety concerns about occupying the units while construction continues in the other phases of the project and starting construction of the roadway at 650 West. Memmott assured the council that the first two buildings would be finished and the final inspection would be completed by Aug. 15 as well as a fence around Building Three. The parking lot, curb, walks and drives would also be finished. The entire project consists of eight student housing units located at the northeast corner of the campus and should be completed by fall of 2009. The general consensus of the city council was in favor of granting Willow Creek’s request upon conditions of completing the first phase of the project.
