CHICAGO-Josh Hamilton continued in his torrid streak after the Home Run Derby as he blasted his first-ever home run at U.S. Cellular Field and the Texas Rangers dubbed the Chicago White Sox, 6-1 Monday. While Javier Vasquez netted 10 strikeouts for the White Sox, the homers he gave up to Hamilton and Hank Blalock proved to be too much for Chicago to overcome. Carlos Quentin provided all the offense for the White Sox in the fourth inning when he hit a solo home run, but Blalock’s two run shot in the eighth, and Ian Kinsler’s ninth inning sacrifice play helped Texas pull away. The win improved the Rangers to 52-48 on the season, while the White Sox fell to 55-43. In other MLB action Monday, Milwaukee doubled up St. Louis, 6-3 in 10 innings, Baltimore smacked Toronto, 8-3, the New York Yankees bludgeoned Minnesota, 12-4, San Diego gashed Cincinnati, 6-4, Atlanta blanked Florida, 4-0, Tampa Bay stormed past Oakland, 4-0, Pittsburgh blasted Houston, 9-3, Detroit decimated Kansas City, 19-4, Arizona humbled the Chicago Cubs, 2-0, Cleveland tripped up the Los Angeles Angels, 5-2, the Los Angeles Dodgers blew past Colorado, 16-10, and Boston stonewalled Seattle, 4-0.
