MINNEAPOLIS-Joe Mauer and 2008 Home Run Derby champion Justin Morneau each hit home runs and amassed eight RBI collectively as the Minnesota Twins shellacked the Texas Rangers, 14-2 Saturday at the Metrodome. While the Rangers have been engaged in numerous shootouts this season, their opponent’s firepower exceeded theirs for a change as Minnesota netted 16 hits in the convincing win. Delmon Young and Brian Buscher also added home runs for the Twins who put the game on ice with a six run 6th Inning. Additionally, Minnesota improved to 23-7 since mid-June and now boasts a record of 55-42, while Texas fell to 50-48 with the loss.
