(RICHFIELD) – The Richfield Veteran’s Memorial continues to progress towards the beginning of construction of the monument. Richfield City Mayor, Brad Ramsay, said the process of designing and ordering the memorial took longer than expected but that part of the project has been completed and is well on its way. Ramsay said that the city has asked Carl Holmes to help with fundraising efforts through business and private donations. Holmes commented that the Veteran’s Memorial Committee provided a float in the July 4th parade and set up a booth at the park and were able to receive $2,000. Both Ramsay and Holmes said the committee is more interested in getting veteran’s names than the amount of money donated towards the project and that this is a county monument, not just a city project.
