(RICHFIELD) – Several groups in the intermountain west are promoting the use of native plants for landscaping purposes as opposed to store bought plants. Jeanette Warner, owner of Wildland Nursery in Joseph, says many people don’t know the difference between a native plant and a weed. USU Extension Agent, David Drake, says that as people get more information about using native plants, they’re pleased with the display. The Fremont Chapter of the Utah Native Plant Society is sponsoring garden writer, Maggie Wolf, to discuss her “Seven Secrets for Using Native Plants Successfully”. The meeting will be held tonight at 7:00 at Wildland Nursery at 370 East 600 North in Joseph. Refreshments will be served from 5-7pm.
