(RICHFIELD) – The Richfield City parking ordinance has suffered another revision at the City council meeting Tuesday night. Councilmembers held a public hearing to gain additional input on the language of the ordinance. Several business owners are concerned about the ordinance which states that it’s unlawful to park or display goods on unimproved and unpaved lots within the city limits for sale. Some business owners questioned city officials if they were in violation of the ordinance by storing product on their property for display. City Attorney, Richard Chamberlain, has changed the language of the ordinance to include displays on non-residential property to protect business owners. Mayor Brad Ramsay made a motion to completely repeal the ordinance but it died for lack of a second motion. After discussion, the amended ordinance was approved by the city council.
